Welcome to Rotary
We are supporting two mothers, Sviatlana and Natasha, and their two children who recently fled Ukraine absent their husbands who were not allowed to leave. With nothing more than their suitcases,
they recently settled in Wilmington and are working hard to learn English, find jobs and create a sense of normalcy for themselves and their children.
OUR GOALS INCLUDE HOUSING ASSISTANCE, TRANSPORTATION AND CHILDCARE SUPPORT.
We believe it will take $25,000 to get them on their feet and help them to become contributing members of our community. We are currently trying to maintain safe and affordable housing as well as reliable transportation to get them to school and work.
THE NEED IS IMMEDIATE AND URGENT AND WE HOPE YOU WILL BECOME A PART OF THE SOLUTION
Checks can be made out to the Wilmington East Rotary Charitable Trust (WERCT) and mailed to PO BOX 373, Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480 OR our
GoFundMe account at:
The two families have just moved into an apartment, the children are in daycare and elementary school and the two mothers are taking English classes. Shortly we hope to secure them an automobile so they can begin working. Their maintenance is ongoing so we need all your support.
The Wilmington East Rotary was chartered April 8, 1963 as Club 6185 in District 7730 of Rotary International. It is one of 50 Clubs located in eastern North Carolina.
We meet every Monday evening at 6pm at Bluewater Grill, 4 Marina St, Wrightsville Beach overlooking the beautiful Intra-coastal waterway. Few clubs have a more spectacular location to meet!

So what is Rotary, anyway? That’s the question We hear most from people who have seen our logo and hear that We are Rotarians.
We’re a local civic organization doing the things you’d expect: funding scholarships, supporting other non-profits like the Salvation Army's "Ring the Bell" Annual campaign, or feeding the poor or funding programs that assist disadvantaged youth etc.
But we’re not just local.
Rotarians help build sustainable systems to deliver clean drinking water in India. And Rotarians don’t do this by just writing a check. Thousands of us travel to the poorest corners of the earth and make a difference with our own two hands. You see, local Rotarians are part of a world network of like-minded people whose achievements stem from a basic, four part code of behavior. Of everything we say or do, we ask:
Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
Is it beneficial to all concerned?
The 20th century saw the spread of freedom across the globe, with dictatorships large and small collapsing in favor of democracy, open markets and civil rights. But as the political barriers to human dignity continue to fall, too many of the world’s people still have no sustainable way to provide themselves with food, shelter, medicine, clean water and other commodities. Rotarians work to change this in a permanent, sustainable way.
If you’re reading this page now, I invite you to join with us at our weekly meeting on Monday evenings at 6:00 pm at the Bluewater Grill in Wrightsville Beach. Rotarians carry their four way test within themselves when they go out the door every morning. We invite you to join us in radiating that standard around the world.
Come join our causes.
Yours In Rotary,
